Turning One Discovery-Call Form Into a Fully Enriched CRM Record
Turned one post-call form into a Slack summary, an archived doc, and a fully enriched ClickUp record, all at once.
Manually posting a Slack summary, archiving notes, and updating five separate ClickUp fields after every call
~4 hrs/week
The Challenge
After a discovery call, a rep's notes needed to reach the team in Slack, get archived somewhere searchable, and update the ClickUp deal with lead temperature, deal size, and communication style. That's six separate manual updates pulled out of one conversation, every single time.
The Solution
The n8n version fanned six branches out from a single trigger, and that same shape works well as a Make Router. A Typeform module fires on submission, a Filter keeps only forms carrying a hidden ClickUp task ID, and a ClickUp module fetches that linked deal. A Router module then splits into parallel routes off the same call data. One formats and posts a Slack summary tagging the sales group. Another builds a plain-text version, creates and fills a Google Doc, and writes its URL back onto the ClickUp task. The remaining routes read the lead-temperature answer to tag the deal Hot 7, Hot 30, or SQL, and set deal size, a yes/no field, and a DISC-style communication score, each one gated by its own Filter so a blank or unrecognized answer never overwrites good data.
How It Works
The Results
One form submission now updates Slack, the archive doc, and every relevant ClickUp field at the same time, giving the team a fully enriched deal record with zero manual entry after the call. And Make's Router keeps each of the six branches editable on its own instead of bundled into one long script.
Tools & Technologies Used
How To Create This
- Trigger the scenario on Make's Typeform module for the discovery-call form
- Add a Filter that only continues if a hidden ClickUp task ID is present, then fetch that task with a ClickUp module
- Add a Router module splitting into parallel routes off the same submission data
- On one route, format and post a Slack summary tagging the sales group
- On another route, build a plain-text version, create a Google Doc, and write its URL back onto the ClickUp task
- On the remaining routes, tag lead temperature, deal size, a yes/no field, and a DISC-style score on the ClickUp task, each gated by its own Filter
