    The goal

Automated tagging for candidates who ghost their assessment or flag a risky trait pattern.

    Manual work cut

Manually checking survey completion and tagging each candidate's Workable record by hand

    Hours saved

    ~3 hrs/week

    The Challenge

Recruiters had to manually check whether a candidate had finished their CultureIndex survey, and if they had, whether the result flagged a concerning trait pattern. Then they had to remember to tag the candidate's Workable record by hand, either way.

    The Solution

The n8n version authenticated against a custom REST API and branched three ways per candidate. In Make, it's a Scheduler module every 12 hours, an HTTP module logging into the CultureIndex API for an auth token, and a second HTTP module fetching surveys sent 7 to 14 days ago using Make's built-in pagination. An Iterator module loops over each survey, an HTTP module searches Workable for the matching candidate by email, and a Router module branches three ways. No match found, so skip it. Survey still incomplete, so tag it "No CI". Completed with an Avoidant trait pattern, so tag it "CI_Avoidant". Each route checks first that the tag isn't already applied before calling Workable's API.

    How It Works

    The Results

Candidates who ignore their assessment or trigger a risk flag now get tagged in Workable within hours, instead of a recruiter manually auditing survey completion across every open role.

    Tools & Technologies Used

    Make
    CultureIndex
    Workable

    How To Create This

    1. Trigger the scenario on Make's Scheduler module, set to run every 12 hours
    2. Use an HTTP module to log into the CultureIndex API and retrieve an auth token
    3. Add a second HTTP module to fetch surveys sent 7-14 days ago, using Make's native pagination
    4. Use an Iterator module to loop over each survey and an HTTP module to search Workable for the matching candidate by email
    5. Add a Router module branching on no-match, incomplete survey, or Avoidant trait pattern
    6. Call Workable's API to tag the candidate accordingly, checking first that the tag isn't already applied
